Stop 6 Cartegena, Spain

Once again, we weren't expecting a whole lot from Cartegena and hadn't put a whole lot of effort into planning.  We were pleasantly surprised at everything there.  So much history in this town, it was founded in 228 bc.

We first started by checking out the Teatro Romano and Museum. This Theatre was amazing and very well taken care of.  The remains of this theatre were only discovered in 1988.  This is what we thought so fascinating. The remains of all this places have only been unearthed in recent years.  They are constantly still excavating and finding more treasures to the original city.

We needed Churros in Spain and I guess they are supposed to be good here so we had to get a plate. We also ordered 2 cups of hot chocolate thinking it was for drinking. But when we got it at our table we realized the chocolate was for dipping. It was super think, super rich, and def. not for drinking.  Although Adam wasnt going to let that money go to waste so he drank a good little bit of it. haha.

We then went to an area where they have recently started unearthing the 'Forum.'  So unreal to think that people lived here 2000 years ago.   So much of this just blew our minds.  The things they were able to accomplish and create without all the modern luxuries was pretty neat.

We then ventured on to the Castillo de la Concepcion. It was built in the 17th century using Roman ruins.  I didn't get any pictures of the actual castle but it was at the top of the hill so we got pictures looking out.  An old bull fighting ring and our cruiseship were some of the sites.  Oh and we got to go up that crazy cylinder looking thing in an elevator and then walk across that bridge.  Fun stuff and more gorgeous panorama views.
