Meeting Boston and hanging with the rest of the gang!

Early in November Adam had meetings in Northern Utah, so we took advantage of the free gas to go visit all the Butterfields and to meet our newest nephew Boston Glenn Winn (who is adorable). The first day we were there, Adam was in meetings all day but me and the kids hung out with all the rest of the girls and the kids.

 Sometimes I wonder if Adam gives Lincoln wrestling lessons secretly after I go to bed.   

 -He had to wrestle Grandma as well.

 Norah has always had tiny feet. She couldn't fit into newborn size shoes until she was like 3 months. So we compared her feet to Boston's feet.  Norahs were just barely bigger even though she is just about 6 months older than he is.

 The second day we were there, Adam still had meetings so Grandma took Me, Jay, Lincoln, and Norah to lunch at Chick-fil-A and then to Scheels to go on the Ferris Wheel, look at all the cool animal displays, and to check out the other stuff there. Linc loved it all! Here he is with Jayden.

 Lincoln loved Boston and showered him with kisses. He has def. kept up the Butterfield trait of giving lots and lots of kisses- which I dont mind one bit.

The rest of the weekend was fun as well.  Marci went to dinner with Buffy. We met Jaime's wife.  Adam went paintballing with all the guys, we went to dinner with the Merinos to The Pie Pizzeria, and relaxed the rest of the weekend!  We love our family.  

Our Halloweeny Week

We had a fun Halloween week.

First, Norah and I attended my Mom's annual Girls only witches party! Yummy food and fun to see everyone all dressed up like witches!

Next we carved pumpkins---well I pretty much carved pumpkins with a little bit of assistance from Lincoln, while Adam watched.  

We were doing it during the last game of the World Series so I had to do a Boston "B" to celebrate their win.  The other big one was supposed to be an Iowa Hawkeye logo but it didnt work too well sp it turned into what we have here.  

 On Halloween we got Lincoln and Norah all dressed up--- Norah was the cutest little Mermaid and Lincoln was a mean pirate complete with Shark bag.  Lincoln wanted nothing to do with keeping his eye patch on-- and once he looked in the mirror and saw his mustache he freaked out and wanted washed off immediately.  So we got one picture complete with mustache. :)  Norah was the perfect mermaid because she kicks here legs like crazy. She kept her fin on for a good couple of hours while we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood and then went up to Nana and Pop's house where we had some Pizza and just hung out! It was a fun and relaxing Halloween night!

Our Daily October

Lincoln has really gotten into cars, trucks, planes lately. Def. his toy of choice as of late.  The play mat I made is def. coming in handy.

We had a bunch of free coupons from the Dixie Direct that were going to expire on Oct. 31st so we took advantage and had a fun week using them all up.

Swimming at the Washington Rec Center. Lincoln did not like the bigger play place because it has a HUGE bucket that fills with water and then tips over. He made sure to stay far far away from it.

and even though these were for babies, Lincoln had to take part and see if he could hang in them.

After swimming we stopped at Yogurtland for so Frozen Yogurt--- a favorite!

We spent the rest of our October doing the following:
1. Watching the Red Sox in the playoffs--- Which paid off because they won the World Series!

2. Potty Training: Little toys didn't work as well as an incentive as candy and candy bars did. All that candy that I gave him for going poo on the potty was totally worth it because he is pretty darn good at going now.  It def. took him awhile to get the whole poop thing down and there were moments that I def. wanted to give up but so glad we didn't and we are past the whole potty training ordeal.  

 3. Reading

 4. Making huge messes when Mom isn't around.

5. Hanging with Pops with in Pine Valley. It was funny cause the horses were right outside the window and Lincoln loved watching them until they started getting really close-- then he would get super nervous even though they were behind glass. 

6. Marci, Karma, Izzy, and Erin took a "Canning and Preservation" Class through USU Extension. We went once a week for eight weeks and became "MASTER" canners.  It was great and I learned a ton. We bottled, dried, pickled pretty much anything you can think of. These pictures are from the first couple of weeks (we pears, peaches, fruit cocktail, grapefruit, jams, jellies, pie fillings)-- I didnt take pictures from the later weeks when we did stuff like meats ( tomatoes, salsas, tomato sauces, ground beef, meatballs, chicken, chili, Stew, pickles)---

 What I liked most about the class was that we were able to bottle such a variety of food items that I was able to know what I liked, what was worth bottling, and what was a waste of time.  I had a great time doing it with my Mom, Erin, and Izzy!
