The past 6 years I have lived in very cold places... spring was never equated with sunshine and flowers.... but being back in St. George I realize why I always loved Spring growing up. First and foremost- Sunshine and heat. I am a wuss when it comes to the cold, that is all there is too it. I would prefer being out in the 110 degree weather any day, than to having to walk out in the 30, 40, or even 40 degree weather. I am really soaking it up this year because next year I will be back to the cold (Adam is starting a MBA program in Iowa... so we are moving at the beginning of August... yes I know you are all jealous.)
Anyway with all the great temperatures I have tried to take advantage as much I can... here is a bit of what I have been up to.
1.Wedding planning. So fun. So busy. Noone said it would be easy to plan a wedding in two months. Good times.(If anyone hasn't sent me their address and would like an announcement please send me your address either in the comments or email me at marciwitt@gmail.com)
2.MS Walk. I recruited my family and Adam to walk the three miles with me. It was a beautiful day and Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers even decided to show up. Plus I got sunburned and won an ipod shuffle. No complaints! I want to say thanks to the many of you that donated money to me. My team ended up raising almost $1000.00 SO THANK YOU! It really means a lot. It was fun to have my cousin Leslie from Alaska walking with us as well.
3. My 27th Birthday. One of the best birthdays ever. Not only did I get a shiny diamond ring.... but my family helped celebrate my new year with some good times and great cake. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes, cards, and gifts. Love ya all.
4. Work- Still driving down to Mesquite everyday.... I have only managed to get pulled over twice... one warning and one ticket. I think I have learned my lesson and have slowed down just a bit. Really though, who drives the speed limit in the gorge? As far as the job itself I am loving it.... No complaints so far since joining the working world.
5. Easter family celebrations; being in St. George for the holidays means lots of celebrating with extended family. On Friday we had a big Easter party with my Dad's family and yesterday we had a big party with my Mom's side. It was great seeing all my cousins, aunts, uncles .... and more. I think Adam felt a bit overwhelmed after meeting everyone in both sides of the family in two days... we are a lot to take in.
6.Hanging out with Adam... more awesome times! His Mom, Penny made a quick visit to St. George and we had a great day hiking up in Snow Canyon.
So needless to say I am staying quite busy, yet loving most every moment. I love the springtime and I will try to send the sunshine to all you that haven't seen a whole lot of sun this year yet.
