To say Lincoln keeps me on my toes is an understatement. This kids is one BUSY BUSY boy. He is constantly on the go. I feel like I turn my head for one minute and he has found something he isn't supposed to be doing. Being here at Nana and Pop's house has given him even more fun and new things to explore. He finds his way into everything.
I don't know how you Mom's do it with more than one child. I can barely keep track of Lincoln! Love the kid but it would be nice if he would sit still for a minute. :)
I love this video because he shows how busy he is, his piano skills, him walking, and his love of sweets.

He wasn't quite as successful getting into this drawer. He was pretty mad that we took a picture before we rescued him.
This was just too funny. He wouldn't take his hands off the milk and the bananas the entire time at the store. I guess he didn't want anyone taking two of his favorite foods from him.
He has started to love Pudge. He will get up close until Pudge starts to move and then he races back to me as fast as possible.
We had a great couple of weeks since arriving here in St. George. We are staying at my parents house until we find our own place. It's been fun to be by family- and I think Lincoln loves the attention he gets.
Here is what we have been up to.

We next celebrated Easter with a Picnic and egghunt with the Wittwers and then the Bartons.
At both egg hunts he was very happy with 2 eggs. Plus he was more interested in the plastic egg itself than what was in side.

Aunt Whit had her Senior Ball-- her last dance in high school. My baby sister is getting so old!
Jordan had his 22nd Birthday and he wanted to have a Fiesta Party--- so that is just what we did. Complete with Homemade Cafe Rio, Pinata, Sombreros, and cheesy games.
Nothing too exciting about this leg of the trip.. pretty much stayed on I-40 until we reached Albuquerque. Oh ya we did drive through Texas.
So our trip was broken up with stops at State lines to take a picture--- bathroom and fuel breaks-- Lincoln was a pretty good traveler until we got him out of his carseat to change his diaper or stretch and then he HATED getting back in his carseat. Once he was in and settled he was fine but it was quite the fight getting him buckled. We also managed to listen to General Conference--- all but the last session during our last two days so that kept our attention for a big part of the drive. When we arrived in Albuquerque we ate at a New Mexican Food place. It was alright. We drove around the city a bit to check it out and then headed back to our hotel to watch the NCAA basketball championship game. University of Kentucky were the champions. Go Wildcats.
Day 4- The next morning we woke up to a BLIZZARD! It was crazy.... I did not think that we would run into any horrible weather, especially in New Mexico. Luckily it lasted probably only for about a hour but I hate traveling in snow storms-- so it was a slow first hour. The rest of the drive from New Mexico was pretty boring-- we went through the Indian Reservations for a big part of the drive and we were welcomed back into the Desert! We were used to the Kentucky Green of everything and once we hit NM and Arizona, and then Utah it was back to the Desert that I know and love. Oh ya and the MOUNTAINS. We love the mountains and are excited to be back home in UTAH close to family.

Our destination for day to was Oklahoma City, OK.-- we had never been to Oklahoma so we were excited to see it. We were just hoping our drive would go better than the previous day. We headed out fairly early--- and about 10 miles down the road I realized I didn't have my cell phone.. I was pretty made at myself and soon realized that I had left it at the hotel. Great. So we had to back track and go and get it. The day was not starting off very good. But things got better from there. Pretty much no hitches all the way to Oklahoma City. Lincoln even did pretty good (well with me sitting in the back seat with him- feeding him and entertaining him). We arrived in Oklahoma City and decided to check out the 'River Walk' in Bricktown. (it was pretty similar to the river walk in San Antonio). It as fun to see a little bit of the city. I thought Oklahoma City was Great!
I guess Mickey Mantle was from Oklahoma City. They had a nice little plaza and a baseball ball park honoring him.

The next morning we went to the Oklahoma City Bombing memorial and then headed on the road for our next stop- Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This was supposed to be our shortest day but started out as our LONGEST day. We could not seem to get out of Kentucky. We started the morning early --- packing anything the movers hadn’t packed into the truck the day before and headed out. We had a few stops along the way. First up was Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace. It was a neat memorial and park and so glad we stopped.
The next stop was Princeton, Ky. Adam’s Dad was born in this little city and we had never been there so we decided to check it out. It was your typical small town Kentucky town.
Next, which was supposed to be a quick 20 minute drive to Cadiz, KY where Adam has a great uncle, turned into our first headache of the day- def. not a quick 20 minute drive. We could not find his uncle’s house for the life of us. We tried following the GPS- major FAIL and we tried following specific instructions directly from his uncle. Let’s just say by the time we got to Uncle Bill Butler’s house we were pretty frustrated. But we are glad we made the stop. He showed us where Adam's Dad and grandparents once lived and their property. It was neat to see.
We then headed out to Tennessee- well we tried. With a bridge closed it only added to our time and frustrations. We finally figured out how to get out of Kentucky and we made it to Memphis Tennessee. We had plans to check out the city a bit or at the least get some yummy Memphis BBQ but by the time we made it to our hotel it was too late to do anything and we were too tired to want to go out. So a stop at the fast food places across from our hotel was dinner. We were def. ready to get a good nights sleep-- Glad that day was over.
We wanted to capture little Lincoln’s spunky personality- as well as the green of Kentucky so we had some pictures taken of him a couple days before his Birthday--and we snuck in a few family photos as well. We LOVED how the turned out. Thanks Susan of ‘Lookhart Photography’ we’ll treasure them forever!
