Oh It is LOVE..

What a fabulous weekend I have had... the sun and weather have been perfect(my face is red to prove it), it's my big 27th birthday(Happy Birthday me),I spent time supporting something I care deeply about(MS Walk), and most importantly the man I Love popped the big and important question... and YES I am now officially engaged!
So more to come later on Walk MS and my Birthday, this post will be a quick recap of the details of the journey and engagement.

It was back in the first of October... for all you big baseball fans you know this is Baseball playoff time and the Red Sox were playing in the American League playoffs. I was much more interested in them then any guy who showed interest, so when Adam called wanting to go out on a playoff game night, I said yes with a few stipulations. I had to watch the Sox's game... he consented oh so willingly... even though he really had very little interest in watching the game.. So we got my fave Thai food-to-go at Benja Thai and headed back to my brother's house to watch a little Red Sox play-off action. The Red Sox won and what was most important..... was that Adam now knew what he was getting into when he wanted to get involved with me. The Red Sox mean a lot to me.. Really the rest of the night we just hung out, chatted, and got some ice cream.

So lets fast forward almost 6 months later..... after many more fantastic dates and good times with Adam..... we end up back at Benja's Thai food for dinner for the first time since our first date. Adam is looking hot... and the food is yummy. After dinner Adam surprises me with an early birthday present and card. So I open it and find nothing else other than Red Sox underwear- pretty much best present ever and is going to go perfect with the Red Sox jersey with 'Wittwer' on the back Adam gave me for Christmas. He didn't have time but is going to get "Butterfield"- (my soon to be last name) embroidered on the rear. Nothing better than a little Red Sox in the off-season. Next because it was so nice outside we headed up to Dixie Red Hill to look out over St. George. It was fantastic, romantic, and beautiful. We just chatted... and a bit later Adam said some amazing, thoughtful things to me (pretty sure you dont want to know details here), got down on his knee, presented me with the most beautiful diamond ring ever and asked if I would marry him! Of course I said YES! I love the kid and can't wait to spend forever with him. We went back to his truck and he had Sparkling cider, candy corns, and chocolate waiting to celebrate!! He knows me pretty well I must say.

So really it was the perfect night. All of my fave things..... Adam(first and foremost), Thai food, the Red Sox, Red Rock, St. George Beauty, Diamonds, Kisses, Candy Corns, and Nice Weather!

So the big day is scheduled for May 29th, 2009 in the St. George Temple.
It's only a few months away so I have lots and lots to do! Cant wait to see many of you then.

Here we are after he asked me....

My ring... Thanks babe... it's perfect!

whats that you say? .... a real job!

I am sure most of you think the same thing every time you read any of my posts here on my blog, and that is....

"Will this girl ever grow up and get some responsibility? It seems like she is always traveling or playing around."

I can't deny it... For the last 6 months my life has been nothing but pure slackerness, and I have loved it all. But I am sad (and slightly happy) to say that those days of waking up whenever I want, working out any time I feel, watching morning talk shows while I work out, staying up as late as I want, reading book after book for pleasure, and really doing nothing have come to an end. Yes folks, Marci Wittwer has a real full-time job as a dietitian. I know you are all shocked. As much as I tried to make this day never arrive, it has come anyway.

There are some positives to this situation..
1. I get to do what I love doing. I did go to 7 years of school, I might as well use all that information that I crammed into my brain.
2. I get a real paycheck. $$ Okay this is a huge positive. I have lived as a poor college student long enough.
3. When people ask me what I am doing with my life, I won't feel like quite as big as a loser. I can actually answer them with an adult answer.
4. It seems like a great job, I will get great experience, and I love the atmosphere of the place. The hospital is small and only 3-4 years old.

Although it is a job... these are some of the negatives.
1. It is located in Mesquite, NV. All you have been here no how utterly Fantastic (haha) this place is. Too bad I am not into slot machine playing, BINGO with the old ladies, or golf cause there is plenty of that to do. I am hoping the commute isn't too bad. I think spending 2 years in Boston and having to commute to work and school (30-60 min) each way has made this 45 minute drive seem doable every day. I will def become a professional 'Gorge' driver.
2. I am a bit nervous... so I am working in a clinical setting. Not my best area of expertise. Luckily I will be doing outpatient counseling, teaching classes, giving presentations etc... so I won't strictly be doing patient rounds and nutrition care plans on the patients. I am going to learn a lot!

bits and pieces.

I figure once a month I need to do a quick post about what I have been up to... so this is a few bits and pieces about my life in the month of January. Life is still fantastic and I am loving being at home with the family and especially loving the AMAZING weather St. George has to offer. I have even been lucky enough to go running outside in only a t-shirt and shorts! I love my life. This is what else has been keeping me busy...

1. My sister Heidi and her Husband Tim moved back to St. George from Provo. So I have finally been able to take advantage of being an Aunt. I have always lived away from both my nephews so it has been so fun to see Henry at least a few times a week. He is such a cute kid and so fun. I love being able to see him grow. It's also been fun to have Heidi and Tim around. Now if Tyler, Erin,Jackson , and new baby girl were here. Miss you guys!
Henry!!
2. I have been hanging around with this kid quite a bit. Yes things are still going quite well! :)

3. I finally went SNOWBOARDING! The past two winters that I spent in Boston I never got to go Snowboarding. Everyone complained of the icy snow and weak hills in the Northeast, plus I was a poor college student living in an expensive city so I decided not waste my money on a less than par snowboarding adventure. Now being back in St. G and having the opportunity to go Snowboarding on the greatest snow on earth I was going to let the chance pass by. The first run down the hill I was hooked again. It reminded me of all the hours and good times I spent on the slopes previous to Boston. I look back now and realize I cant let another winter go by without at least one day on the slopes. I was definately not quite as brave as I have been in the past but I still felt like I had some pretty sweet moves and could hold my own. It was fun going with my little brother Jordan and showing him a move or two. haha. These pics are of Jordan and I up at Brianhead.

Adam and I then went for a day. Good times.. This is the only picture we got.

4. This last pic is really random I know. My little sister had an assignment for school where she had to get all the food out that her family would eat for a week, then take a pic of it with her family. So this is us. This is a perfect pic because it shows one more reason why I love living at home. I get to partake in some delicous food every day. One of the perks of living at home is having daily home cooked meals by my mom and having an unlimited supply of fresh fruit! I love food... especially when it is free. Why would I ever want to move from home. haha. Plus it has been great to spend time with my mom, dad, my little bro Jordan, and my little sister Whitney. Gotta love the family.

I figure that is enough info to keep you updated for the next month or so. Hope you all are staying warm where ever you are.... cause I know I am.

San Fran New Years!

I love having adventurous friends.  Makes for some pretty random and spur of the moment trips.  San Francisco for New Years was one of those.  There really are perks to not having a full time job.  So I packed up some stuff and met up with JoAnna and Blair in NorCal. Blair has a sister that lives just North of the Bay area so we stayed with their family for part of the time and then the rest with one of Blair's friend, Wes that lives right in San Fran.  So fun!  We had a blast and took lots of pictures.  Here are some of the highlights.

Here we are on New Years Eve... The city was crazy busy that night. We had dinner somewhere and then wanted to go down by the Wharf to watch fireworks.... so we hailed a taxi and had quite the adventure with our awesome taxi-chic driver.  We almost made it to our destination but instead we made the countdown in the back of the taxi...... good times. We made it in time to watch some of the fireworks. Def. a New Years to remember.
Jo, Marci, and Blair--- HAPPY NEW YEARS
Such a fun vacation!! Love these girls.

Christmas was a fun, busy time.
I loved being close to family and being able to do all the fun traditions that I grew up doing!  Here are just a few pics from the holiday season!
I went with Adam to Las Vegas to visit his Brother and his family.
Adam and I with his niece Sammie! So cute.

Now that is more like it!
Mom wanted the attention on this one.
A WHITE CHRISTMAS!  That never happens.  It wasn't too cold though... seeing that we were fine wearing our shorts and slippers.
I love you Whitney..... Sisters and Friends Forever.
After Christmas I headed up to SLC to hang out with Adam. :)
-Adam's Brother Brian and his wife Julie got sealed in the SLC Temple to their cute little Sammie.

I always love going to Salt Lake because I get to see and hang out with some of my USU college buddies. It was so good to get together with Kim, Whitney, Sabrina, and Melissa.  Thanks Sabrina for letting us come chill at your house.
