4th of July was on a Monday so we had a long weekend to have fun and celebrate. So we headed up to South Jordan on Friday and started our partying. We wanted to get out and explore so we started off going and checking out Donut Falls. We invited Grandma along and it was the perfect family friendly hike. Not too long, not too hard. Perfect for a summer day! The kids loved having Grandma come along.
Next we headed up to Logan for a day. We always love playing in Brian and Julie's backyard. Sat. we went to the Cache Valley Cruise in and checked out all the old cars and activities for kids,. Sunday we headed back to Grandmas and had fun with cousins and lighting off fireworks. We did have a crazy night when while we were lighting off fireworks a drunk driver came and smashed into Laura and Jeremys car. The guy tried to run off but he was caught after the guys ran after him. It was horrible and a little scary. We were just grateful that noone was hurt.
Monday morning we went over to the Merionos in DayBreak and had a patriotic breakfast. Next we headed up America Fork Canyon and took a hike to Scout Falls. It was a little more strenuous and longer than Donut Falls but gorgeous all the same. We took Christian along so between him and Lincoln we were def. not winning races. We didn't make it all the way to the falls but had a fun time----- and near the end we were carrying kids on our back and then Norah slid down the side of a hill and Marci had to jump and grab her before she slid too far. It got my heart beating there for a minute and no one was hurt and we just had some dirt to show for it. After the hike we headed back to the Merinos for a 4th of July BBQ and ice cream. Fun weekend celebrating our countries independence and it was so nice to get out of the heat of St. George.
