Marci Girl's Trip to Georgia & South Carolina

Sept 19-21st
Day1- Charleston, South Carolina
We started off the day with Breakfast at 'Hominy Grill.'  It was the perfect introduction to good southern food and hospitality.  We then headed over to the town Square where a huge Farmers Market type thing was going on.  Let's just say it was HOT out side so we kind of walked through and then went onto see what else Charleston had to offer. Joanna had a list of must sees, so we walked around site seeing and checking things off the list as we saw them.  The old architecture of the buildings was fun to see.

We ate lunch at a not so yummy random little place..  Not recommend at all.
You can tell by the look on our faces it was a little sketchy.
After seeing all of what Charleston had to offer we drove to Hilton Head Beach Resort town, waited in a huge line at the 'Sea Shack' and had some yummy much anticipated fresh seafood. We then headed to our hotel- the Marriot Resort, which was right on the beach so it was awesome. We had to try out the hot tub so we spent some time in there before heading to bed.
The next day we rented bikes and rode around Hilton Head and along the beach.  We had one tandem and it was awesome and hilarious in every way. We had a great time cruising around and really just laughing at each other as we were trying to ride along the beach.  Too fun!

Half way through our bike ride we stopped at a little burger place that as along the beach and had lunch!

We got all cleaned up and then drove up to Savannah Georgia to explore it. We Loved this town!  So picturesque and adorable.  It was so fun to just walk around, shop, eat, and check out the sites.

We had to have Ice Cream at the famous 'Leopolds Ice Cream' and got some 'tutti fruiti' ice cream- which we found out why isn't so popular as it once was.  The rest of the flavors were awesome though.

Dinner was at Paula Deens restaurant.  It just happened to be a day where they only served the buffet. But I must say for a buffet it was pretty good. Jo especially was loving it--- and she got a signed picture of Paula herself because it was her birthday.

Evening came and Jo had signed us up to do a walking Ghost tour. Apparently Savannah was literally built upon the dead so they have 'ghosts' in greater number than other places. Our tour guide was quite interesting. We walked around, he would tell us some history of different houses and places and then he would pull out some sort of electronic monitor what apparently can pick up dead people voices.  He would ask questions and then record the silence, and then he would play the recording back to us and sometimes there would be responses.  It was a little weird--- not too creepy but interesting. The worst part of the whole night was that unbeknownst to us we were getting eaten alive by mosquitos!!  The couple of days we were paying for not have bug repellent.  It was torchure- seriously the worst and itchiest bites I have ever felt.  Blair and Kacey agreed with me because they too got eaten alive but Jo for some reason was lucky and got like one bite.
While on this trip I was also able to cross GEORGIA off my state line pics list.  It was dark and on a bridge so it was hard to get a good picture but Jo and I did it!
The next day we woke up to an amazing view, went and played in the ocean and pool and then in the afternoon had to head back to Charleston to catch flights to our respective homes.  Jo-to Boston, Blair to SanFran, Kacey- to Kansas City, and me to Utah.  I would call this Girls Trip a huge success and fell in love with this area. I would love to go back one day!
