movement. witches. 10K in Zions.

So I tend to forget about the blogging world when I am at home in St. G.... forgive me. I will try on occasion to remember to drop a thought or two about what is going on with my life here in Utah!

November is here.. I cant believe it.. time is flying. When I think of November I think of fall leaves, colder weather, pumpkin treats, hot chocolate, family, and delicious food(lots of treats including Candy Corn.) But that isn't all... over the past two years I have have also equated a MS attach with November! Two years ago at the beginning of November I had my first MS attack. Last year at the same time I had another flare-up. Needless to say my body doesn't seem to like the changing weather of November. But I am happy to report to you all today that so far (lets keep our fingers crossed), I have not had any sort of flare-up this November. Yeah!!! I am strong, happy, and healthy. So I want to invite all of you to 'Join the Movement' in helping find a cure for MS. I know one day there will be a cure and I will live free of MS. Until then I want to encourage all of you... to get involved in service, donate to local organizations, run in local races that benefit special programs. Whatever it is... this holiday season and into the new year, don't be afraid to make a stance and help others!!

ps... I know it is still a few months away but I will be recruiting each of you to either donate, walk with me at a WalkMS event, or will encourage you to participate in a BikeMS event. I don't think the walks are til March or later so you have a few months. Get prepared and THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! One more thing... I found this song about MS that I thought was pretty classic. ha ha. Just click on the play button on the song entitled, "Move Sumthin."

Here's some pics of my October and all the fun we had over Halloween!!

-These last pictures are from a 10k race I ran up in Zions National Park. My dad had wanted to get in shape so I put together a running program for him. A 10k race was part of the training so I decided to do it with him. I even talked Whitney into running it with me. They both did really good for it being their first 10k race. Whitney even places in her age group. GO WHIT.  I love races cause it is motivation for me to stay in shape.

Such a Beautiful day for a Run in Zions..

Sox FEVER . . . and little bit of PARIS

DISCLAIMER: Sorry to all you that aren't Baseball fans. You probably won't appreciate this nearly as much as I do. Humor me anyway and read a little about my love.

It all began when my friend Blair texted me saying she had an extra ticket to a Red Sox game. I couldn't turn down the offer so I booked a plane ticket, and flew out to Boston for the game... all for the greatest team in Baseball, the Red Sox.... and yes it was def worth the trip. Things got even better when my friends suprised me with tickets to 3 games, not just 1. I was in Boston for 3 days and spent 3 evenings at Fenway. Nothing sweeter than that. Here is a recap of the highlights... there were many.

GAME 1: Straight from the airport Jo and I drove to Fenway..a few innings late but still loved every second of the game from the best seats ever, thanks to Blair. We got the honor of watching the Sox clinch a playoff birth. The Red Sox sure know how to celebrate. Lots of champagne and beer throwing by the players after the game. Many of the players went around shaking hands with the fans.
More game highlights: Youk homering, Papelbon closing, my bf that sat next to me singing "wild thing" with me, and of course getting wet by the champagne throwing of Varitek. I love seeing the players not playing baseball and with their families. It makes them more real and you see more of what their personality is like off the field.

Game 2: Back to our centerfield seats but still sweet, more singing of Sweet Caroline, and another 5-4 victory over the Indians.

Game 3: This game was the perfect ending to my time at Fenway. Another victory, Lester pitching, Papelbon closing, another Youk homer over the green monster, getting rightfielder, Mark Kotsay to acknowledge us every inning(which he did), having the older creepy men sitting in front of us loving all our comments and taking pics of us with them to send to one of the guy's fiance, our pal Jim that wanted to get a little more cozy with me than I wanted to, my bag of Fenway Kettle Corn, and my new Best Friend Billy Dunn (Red Sox Officer that guards the bullpen at each game) He gave me his business card and the ball that Papelbon used that day to warm up in the bullpen with. For all you Sox fans, you know who I am talking about... he is the one that pounds fists with all the pitchers as they head out to the mound. I would almost consider him a Red Sox legend. haha

So Yes I owe all these fine memories to my Blair and Jo. They made the games possible. THANKS GUYS!!

ps. I had to add this in cause it is not everyday that you see celebrities.
So I am in the Boston airport waiting for my flight to LA. Guess who comes walking up? PARIS HILTON and her boyfriend Benji Madden. Most people would care less but as sad as it is I was pretty in shock. haha. Pathetic I know to be 26 years old and excited to see a lame celebrity. They of course immediately walk into the first class lounge... but they have to come out to load the plane so I am on watch to get another glimpse and hopefully a picture. I didnt have any luck getting a very good picture when they came out (mostly because I didnt want to look like a crazy person obsessed with a non-important celebrity). I dont know if others didnt realize who this was or just didnt care, but there were only a few of us that had this same look of amazement. So over the next 6 hours this is what I learned about Paris:
1. She doesnt get dressed up to go flying at 6:00 am in the morning. She looked like the rest of us in the airport ... like we had just woke up.
2. She reads celebrity gossip magazines. As I walked by her on the plane she was reading "star" magazine. I am sure she was just trying to get the latest gossip on herself.
3. She doesnt carry her own bags. (As soon as they got off the plane they had someone waiting for them with a cart so she wouldnt have to pull her little carry on all on her own.)
4. She too uses airplane bathrooms. haha. (this makes me sound like I was watching her the whole time... but really I slept for most of flight but just happened to be awake when she got up to go to the bathroom)
5. Overall she seemed really chill and cool. I would love to be her friend.

When we got to LA there was absolutely no paprazzi around... except me cause I did manage to get a couple pics.. Just of their backs though cause like I said I didnt want to be one of the few people that looked crazy trying to get pictures.

As a whole my first trip back to BOSTON since moving away was a huge success.

puRa VidA . . . coStA riCa

There are many, many benefits to being single... one being that you can pick up your things at a moments notice, not have to worry about consulting with anyone, and run off to the tops of the rainforest and tropical beaches of COSTA RICA with friends. It was awesome... in every way. Some of my favorite moments and adventures where:
1. The drive up and back from Monte Verde... needless to say this road(if you can even call it that) was nothing but rock and dirt. Good thing they require your rental vehicle to be 4 wheel drive. The ride down may have been our first and only argument between us all.... I will blame it on being hungry. :) 2. The Canopy Tours through the rainforest in Monte Verde. We were literally hundreds of feet off the ground, on zip lines going up to 50 mph, zipping through the clouds and trees. It was amazing... highly recommended to anyone. It was beautiful, green, and RAINY. Lets just say that we did not come prepared... who knew it rained so much in the RAINforest.. haha. NExt time I will be sure to pack a raincoat. I also loved that Jo was always the last to go on the zip line because she wanted alone time with ALma... or guide. 3. The condo we stayed at in Playa Tamarindo, or more specifically the shower at our condo. Pretty much the most amazing shower ever. I felt like I was showering in the middle of the rainforest... in the comforts of our condo. 4. The juices at all the restaurants and the fruit smoothies at "Mandarinas." Banana-Blackberry was my fave. 5. The beach: whether relaxing, boogie boarding, taking pictures, playing charades, laying out, watching emily and robin surf, or hanging with the locals. I am definately a beach bum at heart. Our night excursion to the beach may have been one of my faves... LEts just say it wasnt the smartest thing... and you may end up with your green shorts not so green. 7. Driving to the market in the middle of a mini hurricane. The dirt roads were literal rivers. Huge trees were down, cars were stuck, and Jo lost her Chaco. Sad day... but def an adventure. 8. Last but not least was that I loved spending time with my friends! Blair thanks so so much for setting it all up and inviting me along. I owe you all for such a good time! Cant wait to do it again. the Lazy yet Buzy days of Summer... as an unemployed, non-student.

Who knew life could be so fantastic?! I guess that's what happens when you have basically no responsibilities to your name. So the last two months I have had no job... and for once in my life dont have school to attend to. What more could I ask for.... oh ya free rent, free food, and all the other perks of living at home. I must say I have really enjoyed all my down time and have filled it with lots of traveling and relaxing.
Here is a little bit of what I have been up to.

1. Wittwer Family Reunion! Bryce Canyon.

Izzy and I at Bryce Canyon.

Heidi and I.... We got drenched by the sudden downpour.

2. Camping in Zions: Angel's Landing Hike.

Thats where we are headed.. to the top of Angels Landing.

Along the way

Switchbacks..

Midnight Pancakes.. Yummy.
3. New Jersey and New York to visit Tyler and Erin in their new home!
We spent lots of time painting, decorating, and making Ty and Erin's new home so Great!
Tyler and Erin live less than 30 miles from NYC so erin, mom, and I went to "Mary Poppins" on Broadway! I loved it.
Mom and I in Times Square!

4. Hanging out with my nephew Jackson.
He loves the CAR!
Jack and Mom making faces!

One of these days... I am afraid sooner than I would hope... my freedom is going to come to a close..... but not before I head off tonight to COSTA RICA for a few days!

this is what FRIENDS are for . . .

I ventured on up to Salt Lake and spent the last few days with many good friends, mostly from my good days at Utah State. I had some of the greatest girl friends I could have ever asked for during my college years; Melissa, JoAnna, Jenni, Kim, Kacey, Whitney, Buffy, Paige, Sabrina, and Brittany . . . just to name a few. These type of friendships come once in a life time. I have been lucky enough to keep many of these friendships alive. Although we are now spread all over the country; pretty much coast-to-coast, married, single, engaged, and babies; we always like to get together with any possible excuse. I wish all of us could have been together to reunite but instead Jenni, Melissa, Jo, Sabrina, and I would have to do! (Sabrina; congrats, you looked adorable) I especially loved spending time with Jenni, Melissa, and Jo (the non-marrieds). Cant wait for the ring to start its journey. (Jo dont you be screwing it up this time.... no excuses).

I also have to give a shout out to ERICA JEAN! It was so great to spend lots of time with her. We always have the best time together whether chatting about our amazing adventures in Boston, creating new adventures, or talking about how much we love(and hate) the dietetics career and food... Although she is getting married (Nick you are a lucky guy and better take good care of E for me) I hope our good times continue! Trisha I also loved seeing you... I already miss not being your neighbor and seeing you everyday!

THANKS to all my friends over the years whether from Snow Canyon High, Utah State, or from Boston! You have helped shape who I am today! I love ya all. Thanks for being the best frieds ever.
