The highlight of Feb. was def. Nana and Pops getting their mission call. On Feb. 2nd we all met up at their house in the evening and they opened it. We had all placed our guesses beforehand and Norah ended up being the closest with her guessing South Africa. Noone else guessed Africa. I knew that Africa was the 1 place Nana really did not want to go. haha. You can tell by the look on her face she wasn't too thrilled at first. I think Pops was a little shocked as well. Their official mission is the Uganda, Kampala, Africa and leaving on March 13th. We were all so excited for them and are excited for all their adventures to come. We know they are going to be amazing missionaries although we are going to miss them so much.
These were Norah and Lincoln's guesses earlier in the day. Both chose Africa.
Here are Andrew, Lincoln, and Channing all sandwiched between Great Grandma and Grandpa Barton at Nana and Pop's farewell.
Other adventures for Feb. Cade playing outside and of course getting time on the tractor.
We had stake conference and Norah found Nana and had to sit by her. Cade was as busy and mischievous as ever. This kid just can't sit still. Some of his favorite things to do..... go in the bathroom, climb up on the sink, and turn on the water. It doesn't matter if he has clothes on or not. He doesnt mind being drenched. Often the toilet paper ends up getting drenched as well.
He had found the green salsa in the fridge and I guess he wanted some because he went in the family room and dumped it out.
Norah still loves Preschool.... here she is designing a floral arrangement for Valentines Day!
Lincoln had '100 Day' at school so he got to dress up like and old man.... This is the best we could do for him. But Norah wanted in on the action as well so we found her quite the little get up. They were the cutest little oldies.
We are always doing some sort of project--- The kids love to color and Cade found that the floor was as good as a place as any to color. Good thing I only allow watercolor markers.
We had our little Valentine mail boxes out to write notes to each other and Lincoln sure wrote some good ones. Clearly Dad is the favorite. haha. I love that Lincoln is starting to be able to write and spell. Kindergarten notes are the best.
The weather got really nice so we went to Thunder Junction Park to play. We didn't think the water part would be on but it came on while we were there and the kids couldn't resist getting wet... especially Cade!
The Merinos came down to visit for a weekend while Bella had a soccer tourn. I only took one picture of Gabi with Cade lying on the couch watching a movie... but the kids LOVED having their cousins around to play with.
Our daring little Cade had a fun little adventure--- he has learned to jump and loves to jump off anything he can get on... so he jumped or slid of something and hit his head on the corner of the fireplace bench thing. It was a pretty good cut---- but he was happy as could be as soon as I got the blood cleaned up. I think he might have a good little scar on his forward now. we will see.
More park play dates!
Ice Cream and Zeppes when Dad was out of town at a Conference. Yummy.
We took a hike out to Snow Canyon.. a little windy but beautiful as always.
Josh had his last game at Dixie state University. Because he was a Senior he was honored before the game. We have loved watching him -- even though he had a bummer senior season with getting his foot broken. He ended up being able to play a couple of minutes and scored 4 points.
Other random happenings.
Kids serving Mom breakfast in bed.Cade's 1st trip to the dentist. He was a champ.
Going to the worksite with Dad is always a favorite of the kids!
We planned one last family get together in Pine Valley before Nana and Pops leave on their mission. We were lucky enough that it had snowed so the kids loved being pulled by the rhino on their tubes. Isaac, Channing, and Lincoln were the big kids loving it up.
