We had gotten back from South Jordan late on the 23rd and we didn't really feel like getting a big Christmas Eve dinner together the next day so instead we invited Nana/Pops/Uncle Jordan to go to Sakura with us for Christmas Eve Dinner celebration. We got there at 5 pm thinking it wouldn't be too busy--- but it was super busy. So we put our name down and then headed to the Temple Visitor Center to wait for our hour and 15 minutes to go by. Around 6:20 we got in and had a fun hibachi dinner. It may be one of my new favorite Christmas Eve traditions. Lincoln and Cade loved the food, Norah ate the rice, they all loved the cool volcano and cooking show, and Lincoln even caught the little piece of shrimp the worker guy threw at him. It was awesome and delicious... and no cleanup!! After dinner we opened a package from Troy the Elf and got our new PJs to wear. We are the whole Bear family..... cutest brother, sister, and baby bear around.
Lincoln also decided that he needed to draw a picture of our famikly with Santa (Thanks to the book 'How to Catch Santa'), of course then Norah had to as well. They also had to make homemade decorations for Mrs. Claus and left cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. After getting everything together for Santa it was finally off to bed. I think the kids must have been good because Santa new exactly what the kids needed and wanted.
Lincoln got hooked up with all kinds of projects, science stuff, a walkie talkie, electricity ball, Solar System model, slinky, books and much to his dismay 1 outfit.
Norah got a scooter with helmet, clothes, books, little cinderella figurines, some Sophia Lego Duplos, a walkie talkie to go along with Lincolns and other fun little gadgets.
Cade was spoiled with a ball pit and lots and lots of balls. He was one happy little boy throwing balls everywhere and getting buried by the balls. So much excitement Christmas morning.
They had lots of fun playing with all their new toys and doing their new projects. Because Lincoln got a new 'magician' Science experiment kit, he and Norah had to do some more experiments. All was going well until Lincoln grabbed the tray to keep it away from Cade getting it and of course all the test tubes went everywhere.... Colored solutions everywhere. Real life craziness at its finest.
We def kept busy with all the fun new stuff for a few days! I love that Lincoln loves to learn and I love that Norah is happy to go along with it...
A few days after Christmas Erin invited us to go hiking up at the Chuckwalla trail. It was such a nice day and the kids loved bringing their walkie talkies along to talk to each other. They played up on the red rocks and had a great time with cousins. Even Cade got in on the action. Christmas and the week after Christmas was so fabulous.
