My Birthday Boy is One!

It was a little bit of a crazy day on our birthday this year.  We spent most of it packing up our stuff in boxes but we did manage to squeeze in a little bit of fun.
We went to lunch at Lynn’s Paradise Café-  We decided we had better check it out because it has been featured on the Food Network on 4 different shows.  Adam got the ‘KY Hot Brown’ and I enjoyed a big fat burger with sweet potato fries!  Next time I would go for breakfast.  The atmosphere there was random and fun!
Later that evening we made sure Lincoln finished off his first birthday with style--- cake in the face style.
This kid is a LOVER of sweets--- just like his Mom. We never had any doubt that he was going to dig in to his cake.  Isn’t he cute even with cake smashed all over his face?
I love sharing a birthday with this cute face...
here I am celebrating the BIG 30 with my slice of cake!
Man we love this kid and can’t believe that it has been a year since he entered our lives.  He is so full of personality already and is a little mini-Adam when it comes to looks-not only his face but his body as well.  Here is what he has been up to this last month:
-The last couple of weeks he has started walking—and is getting better every day. He still prefers to crawl to get places quickly.
-He constantly has to be moving- He hates being held down to sit still… church sure can get long… and changing his diapers and clothes hasn’t got any easier.
-He loves to go up the stairs. If we don’t have the bottom blocked off he will make a run for it and try to get up them before we realize where he is.  I must say he is really good at going up but he still can’t quite figure out how to get down safely.
-He has started waving bye-bye!  Although it is often slightly delayed .
-Has started making clicking noises with his tongue and making ssshhh sounds when we make them.  He is really starting to copycat things that we do .
-He Loves to give ‘five’ to you if you hold out your hand.
-He eats most everything!  We set food in front of him and he goes to town. He is a very social eater. If he sees or hears either of us in the kitchen getting something to eat he rushes to our feet to see if he can have some. He prefers the sweets(which he was introduced to quite a bit this month) but still eats his veggies.  The one thing he seems to detest are Potatoes- even if I mix them with something else he knows when it is in his mouth and he immediately spits them out and makes his disgusted face.  It is pretty funny and sometimes I like to give him potatoes just so I can see his face.

We LOVE you Lincoln and can't wait for all the adventures of the coming year!
