football & country music

What better way to spend Labor Day weekend than with a little Football... Country Music... and BBQ?
BYU was playing at Ole' Miss and because it is the closest location{mind you it was still a good 7+ hour drive} to us that BYU will be playing this year, Adam was determined that we were going to go.  So once again we packed up our little Mazda and headed to Mississippi! Friday night we drove down to Nashville, stayed the night, and the next morning headed to Oxford, Mississippi- Home of Ole' Miss and the famous "Grove."  We had a great time... and it helped that BYU ended up pulling out with the win.  We also loved that the people were so friendly and gracious as hosts.  At Ole' Miss Southern Hospitality is at it's finest. We really were shocked how nice the people were there- even after they lost!  Def. could take a lesson from them.
Lincoln's 1st BYU Game with DAD!
Lincoln loved the HUGE screen that was behind us.  He couldn't keep his eyes off it.
How would it be to sleep so peacefully during so much craziness?

After the game we headed back to Nashville, stayed the night, went to church and hung out on Sunday, and then Monday we went to Downtown Nashville to  check out the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
I must admit that since living in Iowa and now Kentucky, the station in my car is quite often tuned into country music.  We had a great time learning about the history of country music and it's singers, seeing all the memorabilia through the years, and enjoying country music it self.
Our last stop was to get some lunch-- so why not BBQ at Jack's BBQ? Pretty good stuff I might add.
So another roadtrip and a few more states crossed off the list! Overall a fantastic Labor Day weekend!
