Southern California.

San Diego Zoo.
We hadnt planned any sort of summer vacation, so super last minute we planned a little get away to Southern Cali.  Our first stop was the Zoo. The kids loved seeing all the animals, climbing on all the statues, and Lincoln and Mom had fun on the Sky Tram thingy.   Cade was on his 'leash' most of the time because he would not stay in the stroller because he was so excited to move to the next animal. Lincoln's favorite exhibit was the Reptile house (surprise, surprise).....  Cade liked it all, and Norah said she liked the Cheetah whose name was 'Diva' and was just sitting high on a rock looking down on everyone.  It was a great first day in California!

Legoland.
We made it to Legoland the next day.  It was a little cooler, and cloudy so we thought maybe we were going to get rained on but it turned into a beautiful day. I had hear differing opinions on Legoland but the kids loved it all. Lincoln was especially at the perfect age to do it all. Small enough to do the little kid rides, and tall enough to do the coasters. Cade was still a little small to do many of the rides so he was a little bummed about that but overall there was lots to keep them all entertained .
When we first got there, we were having to wait about 20 minutes to go on the rides, so we got some 'blue' cotton candy and let the kids know that baby #4 was going to be a boy.  Lincoln was pretty happy about it, and although I thought Norah was going to be bummed because she really wanted a sister, she was perfectly ok with it and happy.  Cade was pretty indifferent to the whole situation. ;)

All the Lego themed rides were so fun and creative.

The kids loved the cars they could actually drive and although Norah probably went only like 30 feet the entire time she was on it, they thought it was cool.

Cade was pretty bummed once again that he couldn't go on the ship... So he screamed for a minute until he realized he could shoot the boats as the drove by. It kept him a little entertained for a minute or so.

One of the last things we did was the boat tour of the little lego world. So neat to see places from all over the world made of actual legos.  Mind blown for sure.  Such detail in everything.

There were a few Lego characters running around, but our kids wanted nothing to do with it.  haha.

Overall the kids really liked it and I would go back with kids probably 10 or so and younger. A day well spent.

Oceanside Beach.
Our last day we headed up to the beach for some R&R.  I think the kids almost enjoyed this day the very best! Something about playing in the sand and water under the sun makes for perfection. The kids did not want to leave in the late afternoon!  We were driving back that night and stayed too long--- and ended up getting stuck in the worst traffic. It took us forever to get home.... oh how we love Californing(except that nasty traffic).
