Our big 3 year old!
Adam and I built this race track for the kids to race each other. They each got to pick a new hotwheels car out and then have races. Jackson's ended up being the fastest! He was pretty excited that he picked the best one.
Channing with the cars.
I think the cake was pretty cool. I saw it in 'Family Fun' magazine and thought it would be perfect... and it looked like something I could do. It turned out perfect. The kids loved trying to get the race cars to shoot through the cake.
Our party favors: Pit passes, hot wheel car, and mini trophy with M&Ms in them. Each kid had their own pitpass with their picture on it so that they were designated race car drivers.
We held the party in the backyard and the weather was perfect.
I know it is cheesy to take pictures of the food but we had "Wheelie" yummy pasta salad, "stoplight" fruit, and Motoroil(rootbeer) and Antifreeze(crystal light). We also served hotdogs, watermelon, and chips.
Lincoln got spoiled as always.
He got a wheelbarrow and shovel and rake from Nana and Pops. It was an instant hit. The Merinos had been in California and were driving through. They arrived a bit late because of traffic) but were able to celebrate with us as well! We are so glad they did.
We love our Lincoln and life really would be dull without this little guy!
Lincoln 3 years old info:
-Is our intense- determined- stubborn- I want it my way little boy. If he doesn't want to do something he won't do it without a 10 minute battle.
-Loves to have books read to him
- He is getting pretty good at recognizing letters. Especially the letters in his name.
- Is pretty competitive so we try to use it to help him go to the bathroom. Still struggles going to the bathroom in the toilet always. Still wears pull ups at night.
- Loves to help mom or dad when they are doing anything
- Loves to tease Norah, play with her, tickle, and wrestle her.
- Loves to play with other kids/cousins even strangers. Social!
- Still hates to get his face went when taking a bath and wash his hair is a nightmare. Although he loves taking a bath in general.
- Loves to ride his strider bike and is a pretty fast runner.
- Likes to play out in the dirt digging with shovels or rakes.
- Likes to hide under blankets to hide from the monsters and make forts.
-Loves TV and would watch it all day if he could. But he is only allowed to watch so many shows and he knows when he is out of show's.
-Can be happy as can be one minute and freaking out about something the very next second.
- He won't take naps but needs to. He often falls asleep in the late afternoon and then will wake up super angry.
-Has really good attention to detail and remembers everything we say.
-Very observant about what is going on around.
He keeps us on our toes and we love it!
Funny things Lincoln has said over the last few months. I am not very good at writing them down but I did catch these few funny things:
-Norah was whining so he said, "Daddy, Norah wants some butternut squash" 1/19/14
-We were looking at the elephant pictures of us in Thailand and when we got to the videos of when we were in the water with them Lincoln said, "elephants get baptized to." 2/9/14
-"I want to get a ladder and hide on the ceiling." 2/9/14
-Mom: Lincoln, we need to make a valentine for dad. Lincoln responded, "We need to make one for Norah too!" So glad he adores his little sister. -2/10/14
- Mom: Lincoln, who's your favorite uncle?? Lincoln: "Uncle Grandpa." I guess he didn't want to play favorites. 2/12/14
-After putting a paper airplane in Norah's back pocket Lincoln says, "Norah is going to fly now."
-Norah is my best friend. 2/21/14
-Norah isn't a princess today cause she has pants on. 3/8/14
